A friend at work asked me yesterday if I could make a card for her niece that loves mermaids and could I bring it in today. Itâs a good thing that Toniâs challenge worked out for me today! I had so much fun making this card. I made a template for a hexagon shaped card using the ScanNCut, so I cut the card base and then a blue hexagon to layer onto it. I printed out these freebie mermaids from The Hungry JPEG and made sure that I included six mermaids. I cut out the bigger two with my ScanNCut and colored them all with markers and colored pencils. I sponged some blues around the blue hexagon and sponged some âbubblesâ with a stencil. Splattered a little bit of water and then generously sprayed some Mica Mist to give it sparkle and shine. I die cut the sentiment and then popped up the main mermaids on foam squares. It was fun to have a hexagon shaped card because that meant I could let the mermaids hang over the edge of the card and still fit in the envelope. I finished off the card with six iridescent sequins. My friend was absolutely thrilled with this card. Thanks for a fun challenge, Toni!

Adorable...I love the lil’ mergirl who has the glittery headband and all the little details you gave each one. So cute, Jen! And it’s easy to see why your friend was thrilled.
