I began by sizing & positioning my images on a 4x5.25" blank "canvas" in Photoshop. Once I had them placed, I printed them onto a piece of bristol paper with my laser printer. Even though I wasn't foiling, I knew I'd be coloring with my Tombow (water-based) markers. I normally use an Epson inkjet printer for my digi images. But I've found the printer inks--despite being water-resistant--smear with my markers. (I assume because of some chemical reaction.) So, when I know I'm going to be using my water-based markers, I print with my laser printer.
I colored the flowers & background of each block with my Tombow markers. I also glued on 3 buttons. When the glue had dried, I pierced through the button holes & sewed them. For the greeting, I used one of the "happy" words from "Birthday Builder." I stamped it in Versafine Onyx Black, and then used the "Sweet Script" stamp set to spell out "Spring." I cut the greeting into a narrow strip, and trimmed the left end at an angle. I adhered it to my panel, matted everything with yellow cardstock, and adhered it to a white card base.
