Lisa is our hostess this week for Teapot Tuesdays, and with her MMTPT563 Golden Years challenge, we are helping some friends of Jen's celebrate 50 years of marriage.
Lisa's brief said gold, wedding bells, lovebirds. Well, they aren't wedding bells but I thought I'd have a go at turning this wreath, a Christmas gift from Lorraine, into an anniversary card. I cut the wreath several times - from watercolour paper for the base, from gold and from gold glitter card, and pieced it all together. The birds were cut from pearlescent white, white glitter and black. I used watercolour on the wreath after first adding Liquid Pearls to the leaf and berry details, knowing it would resist the watercolour. I added little pink hearts to contribute to the anniversary feel.
The background is IO's Swirl Lace embossed with clear EP and then spritzed with Brusho acrylic shimmer mist in gold. I edged it with Stickles. Added the sentiment tags, and then to try and make it more anniversary (DH says it's too Christmassy), I added their monogram (gold glitter card, edged with a black Sharpie and interwoven), and a sentiment stamped on a vellum banner, edged with a gold pen. The main panel was edged with gold Stickles to finish it off.
