I'm hosting my first color combination this week with Granny Apple Green, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo. Can you tell what my dessert is? Kind of hard to miss the stripes huh? I was thinking of light gray but maybe got a little carried away with this bold variation. I do think they hold up to the bright colors though. Black and White stripes looked a bit classic prison or referee garb so I decided to mix these up a bit. I cut a bunch of black and white stripes in random widths. After running a few strips of tape down the from of my card I started alternating between black and white as I carefully added strips. I started at the top and butted the edge of the next one right next to the previous strip. I cut my strips a bit wider than 4 1/4" so that I could trim off excess instead of having to be too careful when lining them up. One good thing about having separate strips is that when you stamp the message on crooked you can just rip of that strip and replace with with another. Ask me how I know!
The flowers were cut with the dies from the Good Morning Magnolia bundle. While light or white would be expected I though it would be fun to brighten up these petals a bit with Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry. The petals were sponged in the center and then curled with a stylus - or pencil.I traced a line in the smallest petal die to get the lines on the Melon Mambo bloom. The dies have a variety of leaves so... I used them all.

I admire the work you put into creating both black AND white stripes for your fantastic background, rather than just layering black on white! Wow Chris! And the vibrant blossoms are perfect against the graphic striped background. Gorgeous card!
