I made this card for this week's Alphabet challenge for the letter I. The I in this card is for the inlaid technique I used. It is very hard to see here, but the flowers and leaves are recessed below the top white panel on this card. I first die cut the top white rectangle layer, then I die cut each of the flower and leaf shapes from this top panel. I stamped the die cut pieces and colored them with copic markers. Fun foam was applied all over the back of the top white panel, then the dies were fit back into place to cut the same openings into the fun foam, then the top panel with attached fun foam was glued to the card base. The next time I do this, I will glue the fun foam to the top panel, and die cut everything in one pass. That would have been much easier. Each colored flower and leaf was glued into place through the die cut openings. This card was a bit tricky to do, but it was fun to make, and I would certainly do this again because I learned a lot doing this. I will be sending this to my SIL who is a gem of a gal. Thanks for looking today. ~Karen.

Wowsers! Love this inlaid look. You are so good at doing this kind of thing. I am in awe! Your coloring from the brown centers to the yellow petals looks gorgeous. The beautiful green leaves are perfectly placed!

This is beautiful, Karen! I considered doing the inlay technique but went another direction. I think the real star of your card, though, is the fantastic coloring you have done here. You have created a lot of depth with your coloring, it is incredible. Gorgeous!
