my hokey pokey is wonky, out of time and step...but I so appreciate anyone who can use their voice to sing and their rhythm to dance. Come have a look...I've brought a whole girls orchestra to the TeaPotter's party as our hostess, Wanda suggested!
I used the colors from this weeks Color Challenge given to us by bejoyce (Barbara). The coral and the peach I must admit are not favorites of mine...but when mixed with the olive...it's all good! I embossed this fantastic vintage big band image from a local rubber craftsman and watercolored the scene. I've got some mighty talented musicians. Notice the scene on the drum and one of the trumpet players actually has the thing they use to change the sound by almost plugging it up...what is that called you musically talented people? Anyway, my point was how marvelous it is the old stamp makers could create something so detailed.
I used the Tim Holtz 'Retro Repeat' dies to cut my colors as wall panels. I rather like how it looks against the band. And of course, the question of the day...what would you do if the Hokey Pokey is REALLY what it is all about?
Thanks for stopping by for this lite hearted fun. I am so glad I could bring the music to the parade, Wanda. Thank you so much.

I second the "mute"...what a fabulous image...I love it and the all girl jazz band! They are the cat's pajamas! And those cool background panels with today's colors are so clever...I'm sure you do the hokey pokey at every opportunity..:)

I left a comment on your card and then I lost it - that is what I hate. don't hate your card by any means however. You are always one of the most creative card makers on this site. I love that you were able to do the two challenges in one. This is so fun!! :>)

Holy cow, Susan, I LOVE this! Today's colors are so perfect for your retro band--colored so beautifully! Love those die cuts on the stage and that wicked fun sentiment that fits them so perfectly. HA! I was watching some show recently where the mother told her kid to stop singing the Hokey Pokey--it's a song about cannibalism. LOL!
