My attempt at Karen's TLC740 Merging Backgrounds challenge. I admit I did add a third stamp with a very open design (the distress one) because I felt the other two (lace and vines) needed something to bring them together, even though I thought I'd taken care in choosing what to use.
I stamped the lace over half the card and vines over the other half, using Pumice Stone DOX. Stamped the distress in Weathered Wood. The more solid lace part and climbing vines gave me the idea of turning it round through 90 degrees and having the lace as the bottom, and the vines growing up in the air - so I stamped the sun. I used a sentiment from Serendipity and a butterfly that was on my desk - the two small ones were surplus to a project I'm working on so I added them in too, as using two of the TH ones was a bit overpowering. I added a gold flourish for a butterfly trail. Decided it needed a flower in the foreground and this lovely perlargonium from (Art Deco) Karen was perfect - I coloured it with pencils and added SN clear glitter over the blooms. Finished it off with a sprinkle of chunky gold EP and added it to a card base. Thank you to both the Karens!

Before I became a cardmaker, I used to think less is more. But I'm learning that the more you add, sometimes the better it gets! I ,I've all the elements you've added to create art instead of just a card! This is beautiful!

Beautiful card! I'm amazed at how well all the elements you've added came together so wonderfully! I have a hard time doing that! Beautiful butterflies too!

Lovely collage style card, Sabrina. Great bg with the TLC and the sentiment is terrific....I like how the font changes for "caterpillar" and "butterfly"...echoes the sentiment itself.

Ooh, I love this, Sabrina. The three stamps merged beautifully. I love your sun and the gorgeous butterflies. Wonderful and true sentiment, also.
