I was given this book/gift box and wanted to create something special with it. I've had a birthday version made properly from scratch on my mantlepiece since last year and thought I could cheat my way into trying it!
I took so long making the various pieces that I ended up with two different schemes - the stamped owls and feathers and the rest. I'd started with the owls, based on what I wanted inside the box. While I was waiting for that to dry, I looked at the outside of the box and went off on a different tangent. But I've lumped them all in together regardless! If I'd planned better, I think it would make a lovely luminary but there just wasn't the space.

I love it. It's hard to pick a favourite element, I like the stamped birthday sentiment but the banner strung between the flowering trees is fab too, and there's lots of lovely sparkle. Oops, hit submit too soon. I was going to say the colours remind me of the portrait gallery card from a couple of years ago. Thanks so much for such a spectacular card.
