I made this card for this week's Teapot Party. Jen is our hostess and she chose the wonderful theme of Red, White and Blue. And for extra cookies, you could add something to your card that reminds you of your grandfather. My grandfather loved stars; both real ones in the sky and patriotic ones. This card is going to Recil who is turning 93 and I think I got stuck on this card because I wanted it to be extra special for Recil. I wanted to use a vintage car because that is about as American as you can get in the USA. So I stamped, colored and die cut out the car. I also stamped and die cut a Route 66 sign, but that was as far as I got. Then I checked today's Featured Stamper challenge and that is what I needed. This week's featured stamper is Angie (stampinhappy). I had so much fun going through her gallery and this is the card I chose of hers to make: Nerdy Bird by stampinhappy at Splitcoaststampers. I love the offset circle die cut and how the dsp shows around the edges of it. I thought this was brilliant and just what I wanted to do. However, my car image was too big for the circle die cut, even though this is a 5x7 card. Then I got the idea to use a banner instead of the circle and the card just came together. So, even though I did not make Angie's card literally, it is exactly what I needed to get this card made- whew! So thank you for the wonderful inspiration Angie. You have a beautiful gallery and enjoy your well-deserved week in the spotlight too. ~Karen.

Red, white, and blue with a classic car say America for sure! I love your awesome card, Karen, and I'm sure Recil will too. Great artwork, Karen! Hugs!

Fantastic Karen! Your banner is perfect for your card. How very awesome to have a grandfather that loved both kinds of stars! The red dp with stars is perfect, and your blue foil sentiment ties in so nicely with your blue classic car. Love the silver over the red stars. Everything is just so pleasing to the eye on this beauty.

What a fab two-fer.......teapot and FS. I love all the sparkle, and that old Chevy is gorgeous. Don't you wish we had held onto the oldies but goodies? Actually, we have a twenty-four year old Caddy. Next year it becomes an ANTIQUE!!
