I made this card for this week's Alphabet Challenge for the letter E. The letter E in my card is for the embossing paste I used. I removed 2 amounts of embossing paste and placed them on 2 separate acrylic pallets that I had scribbled generously with gelato color (one with pink and one with yellow). I took a pallet knife and just worked the gelato into the embossing paste. Once done, I added some pink embossing paste randomly over the stencil. Then I added the yellow embossing paste in the remaining open edges. Then I ran the palette knife over the entire design to blend the colors together. I was really surprised by how light the colors were in the end because of how bright the gelato colors are. Once I got over the shock of how pale the colors were, I decided I liked it. I just added a simple die cut sentiment and layered the design onto a black mat that I cut using deckle scissors. I have never had deckle scissors before so I am having fun with them. Thanks for looking today! ~Karen

You know, when I first opened this pretty pastel scene, I thought to myself that it was not your usual style. Then I read that you were surprised at how light it turned out, and I had an Ah moment. (giggle) I've never tried gelatos nor embossing paste, so I really don't know how they look or work, but I do like what I see, Karen. My deckle scissors are in the bottom drawer under some other things and haven't seen the light of day in years. I should get them out....

What a beautiful card you've created with embossing paste and gelatos. I don't have any gelatos, but this card makes me want to buy some! So very pretty!

Adding color to embossing paste is so fun and I love how yours turned out, Karen! While those soft colors were not what you expected, they look so nice for spring and work well with the touch of black you added.

Oh, this turned out so beautifully, Karen. Though I usually like bright colors, I do like the soft look of your colors here. The black really makes it pop. I, unfortunately, got rid of my deckle scissors, glad you are having fun with yours!
Wow, this is super sharp and so clever. Love your mix of colors - I think the pastels are so pretty. Your design looks fantastic with the black sentiment and deckled edges.
