Hi, everyone! Today I would like to share a card created for my niece, Paxton, who will turn 2 this month. I fell in love with the Pretty Pink Peonies Paper Collection this month since it is all floral yumminess! I picked this particular design from the paper pack since it was more whimsical than elegant...perfect for a birthday cake! It was so fun trying to come up with a combination of die sets to help my vision come to life: the cake stand was cut from the Bitty Borders Dies and the Letter T Die (upside down); the two cake tiers were cut with the Rounded Rectangles Dies, the light pink scallops were also cut with the Bitty Borders Dies; the candles were cut with the Birthday Candles Dies, and the tiny hearts were cut with the Clouds and Raindrops Dies set. The top pink layer was dry embossed with the new 'Damask' Mixed Media Stencil, then cut out with the Pierced Rectangles Dies and matted with the Scalloped Rectangles Dies. The 'Niece' sentiment was cut with the new Family Names 3 Dies and the number '2' was cut with the new Long and Lean Numbers Dies. Is it considered 'Paper-Piecing', I wonder, if you use dies to create something for which they were not intended....or would it be a 'die collage'?! hehe!! Thanks so much for looking! Have a very blessed day!
