Today we're having a Tea Party for a World War II Vet who is celebrating his 93rd birthday this month. Won't you join us for tea?
I'm hosting today's Tea Party and I'm looking for red, white and blue to honor this WWII Vet. And in honor of my late grandfather, who was also a WWII Vet and would also have turned 93 this month, I'm offering extra cookies for adding something that reminds you of your grandfather. My grandparents always had a puzzle on their dining room table and they sat together almost every night working on them together. We have a funny story about my Grampa almost eating a puzzle piece one night while they were snacking on potato chips while they worked on the puzzle. I've used one of the cards from my aunt--just a simple flag notecard, and cut it into a jigsaw puzzle using an SVG file that I purchased on The Hungry JPEG site. I've left the last piece popped out and also popped up this cute Boy Scout who is saluting our guest of honor.

Love your card and the puzzle piece nudge to your grandfather! I'm seeing a lot of puzzle pieces in the gallery lately and it's making me smile - and nostalgic!

This is just a delightful card, Jen. I love the flag background and your story of your grandparents is so touching. I just lost my 91 year old dad in February. He missed the actual war but was in the occupational forces in Italy after as part of the Army Ground Force Band. I hope to find time this week to make a card for the tea party.

Jen, I love your story!! I couldn't remember anything about my grandfathers, one died before I was born and the second died when I was a little baby so I didn't really know him either.Your puzzle card is great to remind your grand parents, I love the scout boy too!!

The Sassy Cheryl image made me think this was one of Susie's cards at first. I can see the puzzle cut - very clever. I think it's a very sociable occupation but unfortunately DH isn't into them. Great challenge and a sweet card.

I love the recycled idea of the card cut into puzzle pieces. You always do such cute and clever things on your amazing cards.

I really love everythng about this card, but especially the adorable scout! I used to babysit for a family across the street from me and every time they would have dumped a jigsaw puzzle out on their coffee table, and I would put it all together while I baby sat. I always wondered if they minded.

Neat challenge and this is really cute, and I love puzzles---when take hubby to his infusion treatment they always have a puzzle on a table and anyone or several just go sit and put together---cute image and background for your card.
