Carla is this week's hostess for the WTUI challenge, I had great fun making a couple of cards for her challenge. I'd been wanting to revisit Lyn's embossed washi background - but when I'd made this panel, it certainly didn't work for what I had in mind at the time so it went into my backgrounds box. I thought it had an Asian feel which would go well with the fan, so I cut the fan from copper and backed each piece with vellum. Thank goodness for the Xyron X, another gift from Lorraine. Normally I use Mod Podge but that wasn't going to work with vellum. A brad holds the pieces together. I punched the corners and added copper eyelets. Sentiment stamped on the banner, which was sponged while still in the die. There's foam tape in the centre to add a little dimension, the ends are stuck to the card.

Love your beautiful card, Sabrina!! The washi tape bg is lovely with that gorgeous fan. The brad and eyelets connect it together nicely. Thank you for the wonderful sample for my challenge.

Very striking card! The background technique sounds interesting - I need to look that up because I have a bunch of washi tape that I never use...Love the elegant fan.

Wow what a gorgeous creation Sabrina! I love your background and the way you backed your fan with the vellum! The eyelets are a great accent for your fan!
