This is for Stef's great color challenge with a color combination of granny apple green, melon mambo, so saffron, and pool party, with a spring image for dessert.
This card turned into a nightmare for me as I made numerous mistakes that took me in directions I never intended to go. I started by stamping the image with black ink onto white cardstock and coloring with copics that are similar to Stef's colors. After coloring the image, I began outlining the image with a copic color closely related to pool party. I messed up the outline, so I had to color the white cardstock with the same copic to try and hide the mistake.
I wasn't happy so I fussy cut the right side of the image. While doing so, I noticed I had accidentally splattered a "melon mambo" spot on the cardstock when I removed the cap from the copic maker. I was ready to trash the cardstock.
Then I decided that I would just add spots around the main rose with the pink copics I used. What a mess. I am pretending I intentionally used the pointillism technique around the rose. Do you buy that??? I could go on and on with the mistakes, but I won't!
The bottom line is that I decided I had spent too much time on making the card that I would upload it regardless. So, if you stop by to view, I so appreciate your effort!

This card may have given you fits while making it, but we would have never known if you had not told us. It looks perfectly beautiful. I think you really did intend to do the pointillism because it looks great. You were teasing us, weren't you?
Your roses are colored beautifully.

Bev, your rose is so beautiful in the deep rich tones ....and you have colored it and its foliage expertly. A wonderful card with the added embossing, bg treatment, and framing you have done with today's colors.

Bestill my heart Bev, this is stunning!!! I am so glad you did not scrap this because it is a real treasure of a card. I have taken those journeys, and they are no fun at all, but you persevered, and came out with a real beauty! I love all those dots behind the rose because they draw your eye right to this velvety beauty. ~Karen.
