This is for Jan's (Precious Kitty) Storybook Tales Tickle a Teapotter challenge. The inspiration, our favorite childhood story. It was hard to choose just one, but the Little House on the Prairie books were definitely a favorite. Having a stamp that reminded me of Laura Ingalls helped with that decision.
I stamped the girl and dog on the swing, then stamped the little house. Watercolored the images, drew in the tree branch and added the prairie and sky. Applied water-based markers to the landscape stamps; small trees, a garden and fence. Softened with a damp brush to keep the watercolor look. Stamped the Weathered bg on kraft paper then embossed with wood grain. Sponged on inks and die cut the opening. Framed the image panel and finished it off with a die cut hello. TFL

What a fantastic card featuring Little House! Great combo of stamping and hand drawing and watercoloring! Sweet card and of course these books were a fav of mine (love the show, too).

OMGosh, this turned out FABULOUS! Love the grassy prairie scene with the style-type fencing wandering across. Laura and pup on their swing look so Laura Ingall with her apron dress and plaited braids! Love your hand-drawn swing branch...turned out so well. plus the random groupings of trees near the house and in back of the house.
Such a GREAT storybook card!

What a treasure you have created, Carla! It took me right back to both my childhood reading and reading the series to both my sons. Love the perspective of Laura as she enjoys the swing.
This is magical.

How did I possibly miss this. Carla this is one of the most precious cards I have ever seen. Your colouring is out of this world. The scene you have created with stamps and your own hand drawing is brilliant. You have taken no line watercolouring to a new level my friend. This would have been in weekly Favs for sure - sooooo sorry I missed it.
