Alcohol Eclipse Birthday
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: angelladcrockett

Hi, everyone! Today I would like to share a card which was created by experimenting with different blending techniques with alcohol inks and Yupo paper. I began by adding drops and lines of various alcohol inks and rose gold mixtative onto a piece of Yupo paper. The colors were blended slightly with a paintbrush dipped in rubbing alcohol. Once everything was nice and dry, the Birthday die was cut from the Yupo paper so that I could do the eclipse technique. (Tip: if you do the eclipse technique, be careful not to lose any of the tiny pieces inside of the letter loops since these pieces will be glued back into the bottom layer of cardstock.) The die was used three additional times with turquoise cardstock; all of the die-cuts were layered with the alcohol ink layer on top. The small sentiment stamps from the set were heat embossed with pewter embossing powder to coordinate with the metallics in the alcohol ink panel. Two brass brads were added to coordinate with the copper mats. It's unfortunate that the camera does not show the true shimmer....the rose gold mixative blended with the colors looks really cool in the real. Thanks so much for looking! Have a very blessed day!

Ooh, rose gold mixative? I need to get that! I also need to try your paintbrush dipped in alcohol blending technique. This is fabulous, Angie!

Just looking at the Alcohol gallery and this jumped off the page! Sooo Gorgeous! Thank you for the hints on using a brush dipped in alcohol to blend. And for the mention of multiple layers for the eclipse technique. I think that is what has been missing for me when I do this technique.
