The latest Free For All Friday Challenge, F4A471 - Is It Spring Yet? - 3/1/2019, was to make some flower projects. Since it isn’t spring yet where I live (the thermometer read 20 degrees Fahrenheit this morning!), I decided that making a spring card might help get me in the spirit of spring.
I dug around in my stash for inspiration and found these delightful Sweet Pea images, already colored with Zig water brushes and ready to use. They are from my most favorite Hero Arts My Monthly Hero Kit from July 2017. This Kit was called Summer Flowers and it had a huge set of stamps and dies to match. The sweet pea flowers are from that set, as is the wee mason jar.
I heat embossed the jar image with white pigment ink & white detail embossing powder onto Ellen Hutson vellum. It is the only vellum that I have found that can withstand the torture of a heat tool and survive without warping or scorching.
The most time consuming part of this card was deciding on where to stop!!! I started with a simple white oval on white card base and ended up with lavender woodplank DP, a paper doily and way too many sequins! Ha...it was so fun to be using bright, spring colors and delicate flowers. I couldn’t resist adding one more embellishment - a sweep of Nuvo Clear glitter brushed into the blooms and stems.
Thanks for popping in and taking a peek at my card for the spring flower challenge.
