This is a birthday card for a dear friend and SCS team mate, and unfortunately a bit late! With my hand surgery and a cast, cardmaking is slow and limited. I've only managed one other card, but here is my second!
Note: Butterfly is double layered with Wink of Stella added all over butterfly wings for a shimmery look, but the photo does not show it all...much prettier in RIL!
I browsed SCS challenges before beginning and managed to fit nine by adjusting and adding to the card design!
#3. WT727 - Ways to Use It Challenge - 2/14/19. My inspiration word is WING. Butterflies have beautiful WINGs displayed in gorgeous colors and patterns.
#4. AOCC19FEB - All Occasion Card Challenge - 2/1/19. I challenged myself to complete two feminine birthday cards and one masculine. This is my final card for this month! I also challenged myself to a BONUS completion of three more feminine birthdays and 18 Valentine's. With my hand surgery, I did not get any bonuses done.
#5. ABC10I15 - Alphabet Round 10 Challenge: Things in Nature: Letter "I" for Insects. My card depicts the insect of a beautiful butterfly! The bonus was iceberg...NOPE didn't get the bonus!
#6. MMTPT540 - Teapot Challenge - Whykickamoocow Festival - 11/27/19. I loved this, Miss Susie, and really wanted to play along when I got chance, even if late! Since the card is for Covington Crafter's birthday it fits the theme of giving to a fellow SCSer...sort of!
MY WHYKICKAMOOCOW STORY
I noticed last year while attending the Whykickamoocow Festival that the town was sadly missing any evidence of butterflies to glorify any of the 256 gardens in that remote area! Does that mean they have outlawed butterflies in the outback...even the green Richmond Birdwing, which is native to Australia. I self-righteously felt this was just NOT right! I felt it my sanctimonious obligation to transplant a new green-winged species concocted in my very own garage scientific laboratory back home. I spent many days and nights brewing the most delicious combinations of green and settled on Emerald Envy and Lemon Limey. Into my green butterfly stew, I threw in all sizes of sequins and pearls for spots and some Wink of Stella for sheen too! As the days went by my little winged creatures blossomed and flew out of the brew all excited and chattering something about glue. They couldn't wait to make the flight to show off their beautiful velvet wings and win a trophy or two for they surely are the very best they can be!
#7. F4A410 - Free For All challenge - Favorite Stamp of 2017 - 12/29/17. My favorite stamp purchased in 2017 is Stampin' Up's Watercolor Wings...with up to 4 parts to develop your butterfly design.
#8. MIX253 - Mix-ability challenge - Chihuly Inspired - 12/1/17. I, too, have visited and viewed Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle, WA and I browsed the Web and saw this piece: http://ourlittleacre.blogspot.com/20...ture-park.html, located on the cafeteria ceiling at the park in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is the 8th picture down. The color theme and the light and airy Spring-like feel re-enforced my card design. I used pigment ink stamping, Copic Markers, and Wink of Stella (butterfly sheen) as my mixed media elements.
#9. USEIT2019 challenge...an annual on-going challenge to use our cardmaking stash of items gathering dust from age or new/ old items never used. I used some 6-year old dsp and on the inside design my Martha Stewart Butterfly Trio punch. I used some 2-year old paper and my butterfly stamp set that I just cracked open for the first time!

Carlene, this is so pretty and cheerful. I love your new butterfly stamps and your paper is really pretty. You are amazing to be making a card with your hand surgery and certainly don't know how you typed all this.

The one-handed hunt and peck...LOL! Thanks Brenda! But the site changed all my dashes to some strange lettering, even though I dropped it into Notepad before transferring it to SCS.

Terrific! Beautiful color combo. Love the pretty butterfly. I like the sentiment and the banner. Amazing that you created this lovely, detailed card while recovering from hand surgery. Wow! Good for you completing so many challenges, too! I hope everything heals up nicely and you will have full use of your hand soon. Blessings!

Gorgeous card! I can't believe you just stamped the butterfly for the first time with having hand surgery. I may use your butterfly as inspiration as I pull mine out and stamp more. It is still new to me and I haven't mastered it.

Hi! Lovinpaper... MISTI or Stamperatous does wonders with being able to stamp well. It was my salvation. You should invest in one...alleviates great frustration! :-)
