I made this card for last week's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. Susie is our hostess and the challenge is "Arman of Avalon" which is a fantastic feel good story. Suggestions were fantasy, food or sports for card ideas. All great suggestions, but I was stumped - big time. I kept thinking how Arman was a super star for being the kind of kid he is and it finally hit me that I could use a baseball theme because I have this really old SU stamp set with a baseball. The bat was stamped in close to cocoa, then I stamped over it in chocolate chip with a woodgrain stamp and fussy cut it out. The baseball mitt was stamped in chocolate chip on brown suede paper and fussy cut out. The baseballs were punched out with a 1/2" circle punch. I asked my husband what baseball team in Florida is closest to where Arman lives, and he gave me these colors for the Marlins (I believe). I hope this is not an enemy team for Arman. I was not sure I was going to get a card made for this challenge because I am not a sports person, I do not have fantasy nor food-themed stamps, but in the end, this was a lot of fun to do so thank you for the great challenge Susie, and thanks for looking today. ~Karen.

What a great idea to personalize the card with the Florida Marlins colors! This is such an awesome baseball themed card! Arman will love it! (Even if he’s not a Marlins fan)

Karen you knocked this out of the park! That baseball theme is perfect and your glittery star and letters are terrific. I love the baseballs with the red stitching. Good job!

I saw this late last night but was waiting till I was at the PC to leave a comment. You had a great train of thought leading you from superstar to the baseball theme, taking up one of Susie's suggestions and reflecting Arman's character. The way you stamped in woodgrain over the bat is very effective.
I have practically no sports stamps either - I think I have one Penny Black one of a hedgehog and mouse playing badminton! And I used to have a PB cat playing baseball, but after I'd made my nephew about six different cards with it, I couldn't really go on using it for him.
