This is a birthday card for my sister in law Judy. We all love to bird watch and the search for snowy owls is always on our minds. They're hard to see because they stay close to the ground and blend in with the snow. This is my inspiration: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/...n-zygmunt.html
I bought some older stamps from a seller on Etsy; this one is a 33 cent stamp, I don't remember when mail was 33 cents. We're now up to 55 cents. I used scattered straw, broken china and seedless preserves and then spattered it with water. I'm kind of into cutting these frames for the focal image.
We're being precipitated upon again. Lovely icy snow/rain. My favorite. Ick.

I love your beautiful owl. Of course, I've never seen a snowy owl irl. I know they must be a sight to behold. Love your framing and wonderful colors with the DOX for the background. We are FLOODED here.....seriously.

Jean, this so awesome. Love how you showcased the Snowy Owl Stamp. Really like the pretty background you created. I love to go bird watching too and take along my camera. On my bucket list is to see a Snowy Owl in the wild.
Your sister is going to love this.
Hugs.. Pat

This is fabulous, Jean! I love your postage stamp dies w/ the actual stamp front & center. 33 cents..hmm. I don't remember, either. Crazy that it takes 55 cents to mail a letter. And twice as long to get there, as well.

so many interesting elements in this CAS card! love the DOX bg, the REAL stamp, the postage die cuts...those little blings. Your SIL will treasure this...shared birding is very cool.
January 1999 was an increase to .33. Seems like forever ago, doesn't it.
I haven't seen a snowy owl, but always am overjoyed when the Golden Eagles are in the Valley.

Gorgeous background, beautiful owl! How fun to use an old stamp. Yeah, 33cents? I think I can remember when it went to 33 and it felt like robbery! LOL Now it's 55! Sigh! Superb card!!!

That DOX rainbow bg is SO pretty and the double snow white frames really pull the eye into that image on your postage stamp - I have a feeling that bird-watching Judy will treasure this for years to come.
