Here is my pearly card. I couldn't quite bring myself to do white on white--I just can't do it as well as others do (I'm looking at you, Sandie). But the extra challenge of using my birth flower (which I was pretty sure must be a rose, but I admit to having to google it), had me using this stamp that a friend gave me and I hadn't used yet. It sure is lovely isn't it? And perfect for my next TLC--Paper Weaving. Some stampers just weaved different DPs for that challenge, but many weaved white paper and stamped and colored the image. I had to try that and it's really neat! I colored it very softly to keep the pearl theme so Jean wouldn't come after me (LOL, Jean!). And then I framed it up with some metallic pearly paper. I think I had a whiter pearly paper, but if I did, I don't anymore. Anyway, I had in mind that this was going to be a June birthday card, but then once I got it together it was just such a lovely sympathy card. I just wish I hadn't gone for that third stamp of the sentiment, because my paper shifted just a bit and now all I can see is that blurry sentiment. Oh, and I added some blingy pearls as dew drops on the rose.

Awww! How kind you are Jen! I love your card, and well done stamping so perfectly with all the ridges caused by the weaving. The sentiment looks perfect to me.

you're silly, Jen, giving me you know what about the white. I will have to check out that technique, this is beyond lovely and adds so much to a 'plain white card'. I love white on white or cream (as I told you, bossy me) and you did so much justice with it. And btw, i'm not a bossy person, hardly ever.

I enjoyed reading how this card came to be, Jen. It is full of depth and the monochromatic hues. Pearl is very hard to achieve in paper. The TLC has interested me...I've never tried it, so thanks for that. I feel your thoughts on the third time 'round.
At any rate, love card.
