This is my card for today's F4A: create a birthday card with the majority of the card made with the color of your birthstone. Extra points for using your birth flower and bling.
I'm an August baby so my birthstone is a peridot. A peridot is a gem quality variety of the mineral olivine. It can vary in color: yellow-green, olive green, brownish, lime green to almost an emerald. Peridot is supposed to harness the life-giving energy called the sun.
I created the embossed background with DOx ink, various green shades. I spattered the Lumiere paint on the background after embossing and also painted the two diecut squares with it. My flower is a gladiolus; after stamping them on a piece of wc paper that I had in my stash (sprayed with some green and what have you), I embossed them with the mixed media powder, added a little white and yellow pencil and a touch of WOS. I taped down some silver twine before I added the top square. My favorite color is lime green and I think part of that is because of my birthstone.

Very nice framing. And I like the subtle white spatter. I remain my aunt giving my sister some old family jewellery with peridot and I was so envious, I think what I got was an enamelled butterfly. Well done on all those extra points.
