MIX316 = array of colors you would see in the sky. I chose sunset.
Using a CHF backgrounder stamp, the leaves were heat embossed with clear EP. the background was then colored with Brushos and pad inks. Also restamped some of the leaves with pad ink. Stamped the PB image with Stazon black. Came back in with more pad inks and a blender brush.
Side note: a word about a "blender brush". I've never been too good with the sponge daubers(round or rectangular) and pad inks. I saw these blender brushes mentioned on a craft supplies site...they were costly for three brushes, IMO. Thought of Amazon where I found make -up brushes that looked the same to me with 10 brushes at quite a bit less cost. They blend like a dream! Enter "Yoseng Makeup Brush Set of 10Pcs New Fashionable Super Soft Professional Oval" in the search and they should come up.

I REALLY like this - The bits of white overlaying your sky and silhouette trees gives me a feeling of looking deep into a smokey forest fire. For me this is a very powerful image!

Sallie, this is stunning! I love all the layers of color and texture.
I also struggle with many blending tools. Depending on how rushed I am, or who gets the card, I often have visible round marks. Like my hubby's Valentine yesterday! LOL Thanks for the tip on a different tool.

absolutely stunning! You got that late twilight coming.
I agree with you on the sponge daubers...I just didn't, but I ended up with the same set you mentioned and by jove, I think
I might create some backgrounds.
