This card is for the Ways to use it challenge using tissue paper.
I'm a hoarder and have lots of tissue paper in my craft room. I also like mixed media so when I saw this challenge I had to give it a go. I have used tissue paper before on a scrapbook LO.
I had some pretty floral tissue paper and started by pasting it over a full panel of White cardstock with gel medium. It looked too bland so off I go spraying it with blue, purple, pink.....whatever colour I could. There's even some white splatters on there but as I'd pasted the front with gel medium too, I found that when I dabbed the panel most of the colour came off. What a waste but I learnt something...lol.
I had also used a panel that I'd tried to emboss with a wood grain EF. I sponged this with TH antique linen ink to give it the look of aged wood. The problem was I started inking and spraying before I totally covered up my panel and even after sponging it looked OK and motley...lol, but what a mess. It was at this stage that I had one of my recent lightbulb moments.....cut it down. Ah much better now and I still have all those messy strips to play with another time.
It was also at this moment that I decided to make flowers out of some yellow and blue tissue paper...the colours don't show up correctly in the photo. Circles die cut. Now stems...stamped using a stitched line stamp.
One panel down, flowers and bling added. It looked lonely and stamping a sentiment directly onto the cardstock wasn't doing it for me. White panel cut, sentiment embossed in gold and popped on one of the tissue panels and a foil heart from my stash added.
Now I was happy...lol.
TFL. Loved this technique. Happy day

Wow I love how you totally went outside the box and probably outside your comfort zone with this creation Sis. I’ve seen tissue papers used but never made into flowers as you have here. This is definitely into my high ho gallery keeper!!! You are getting much more bold and going where you have never before I love how you explore and I see why you love mix media !! I may need to follow your lead someday with these magnificent gorgeous flowers and maybe even more mix media stuff.

I love it when we can play with our crafts to come up with a really artsy card. This is really quite stunning. Cutting it down still gives you the look you want and you have more for other cards. The tissue flowers work very well with the panel to keep the textures similar but still give a pop. Thank you so much for playing along.
