This color combination from yesterday's Color Challenge made me think about Vintage. I am determined to use supplies that haven't been used before so I pulled out this set of ef, dies and stamps by Tim Holtz. I stamped my Eiffel Tower in Versafine Onyx and embossed in black. I sprayed first with a blush colorshine spray then masked over this with an oval piece that was on my desktop and sprayed the Navy. I wanted darker edges so I sponged with Navy. In keeping with the vintage look I crumpled and sponged a bit for a distressed look. I stamped my Paris postmark from the set on the top and pulled out another set, French Foliage, to stamp another postmark and some spatter. My back panel is dry embossed then sanded and distressed along the edges. I sponged some silver and Navy on the embossing. I stamped my fleur-de-lis in silver then embossed with a homemade mix of different metal ep that gives a more vintage look. I punched and distressed the edges. I had looked at today's sketch earlier and when I went to upload I realized that my brain must have retained that sketch and subconsciously that's how my layout ended up with the sketch flipped. So to give credit I am putting this in that gallery too. I laid lace with a Navy accent over my panel then popped both the image panel and oval. Instead of stamping a sentiment I went with a metal piece to make this a Valentine.

Oh I love your distressed/vintage look! That's something I can't get a handle on. :-) I really like the way the colours look like night time in Paris. How great would that be? The lace and ribbon look terrific!
