I so wanted to do a DOx background using one of Kristina Werner's blends that I forgot we were supposed to use crayons for tea party recipient. Oh my, I'm sorry. Crud. Well, here it is anyway. I guess I could put something crayon inside.
The background is dried marigold, ripe persimmon and fired brick. I wasn't sure what else I would do with this panel so when I decided to turn the sketch on its side, I realized I probably should have done the background differently but....again, oh well. I wanted a childlike look so I went with a set I've barely used and created a little city/townscape. This card is for a bus driver who bought all his kids on the bus Christmas presents. Thanks is not enough to this wonderful man. I used today's sketch loosely and I also finally did the WT of 1/24: use a bike image. I forgot I had this bike.
One4Joy (Susan) gifted me with this little stamp on the tags that has small people cheering. At first I didn't know what the image was, I had to stamp it to find out. It's unmarked and while a clear stamp, it has an orange color to it. I don't think it's from ink.
This card was very much fun to create. I hope Curtis likes it. Such a dear man. I remember reading the news story about him.

Ah - but for the TPT challenges, you can be inspired by anything - the recipient or the teapot are fine even if you miss out the challenge element. I just popped on to upload a sample for tomorrow and spotted this on the gallery front page. I really like the little townscape you created - it reminds me of my Two Can Toucan book. Great use of the sketch with the little banners, and a beautiful DOX background. And last but not least, a perfect sentiment. I had a feeling that I should have one that talks about no act of kindness...totally forget I have this one.

Art is about following your muse and this one is so delightful! I love all the over-stamping of your neighborhood and those little cheering people tags are awesome and come alive as they wave.

What a wonderful card for Curtis! It has a whimsical touch to it with that bike and the trees, etc..and that image on the tag is so cool and fits right in to the sketch banners....very creative Jean!

oh, yes, wonderful! I love those vibrant colors together, your city scene and those tags are just the coolest. Those people cheering are a fab touch! They are from a company in New Zealand. Their 'clear' stamps are orange..go figure. I'll find the name and get it to you. I loved Curtis' story and his big heart. I am sure you had fun with this one, Jean!

You are far too hard on yourself though I do love reading about the struggle - it is REAL for us all I think! Lovely card and great tribute to Curtis. You have really put a lot of thought into this. Beautiful colour, great sentiment, and those little banners are terrific!
