Small Navy in Blushing Vanilla Waters
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: nwilliams6

Stef came up with some BEAUTIFUL colors for this week's color challenge: Blushing Bride, Night of Navy and Very Vanilla.

I used the colors in my sea and sky and then used the Gouache technique described by Lydia in her MIX challenge last week. All my blue paint was dark when it first went on, but the gouache and water lightened it up.

Next I stamped in the boats and a sentiment from LilyPad Lake and framed it up with some scrap paper that looked more vanilla then my water colors.

Put it all together and had a smudge! Urgh. So then I added some more water colors to the sides to cover my smudge.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with! Hugz

Soft and restful and totally beautiful! Going right now to check out the Faux Gouache technique. Glad you're felling better.

Wow, this is serenity at its finest! I love how you used these colors and it could even be used as a masculine card.

Nancy, this is GORGEOUS.....and so beautifully done. Love how there is text on the frame....adds another bit of interest without detracting from your tranquil scene.

Such a lovely, subtle background to go with your beautifully colored water scene! The cream frame is perfect to draw the eye in. A wonderful way to use these colors Nancy! Love this!
