Karen is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and she has inspired me to make a Christmas Card (I'll bet there will be others in the gallery this week; this color combo is perfect for Christmas!). The colors are Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Crumb Cake. The dessert option is to add an element of lace.
I used my new Watercolor Brush Markers on this card. They worked out well, both for blending with a water brush and for adding details straight from the marker. The red color on the berries wasn't quite Cherry Cobbler enough for me, so I added some Stickles to give them a darker color and some glitz and sparkle. I liked the ombre effect on the "Joy," so I just brushed some Glitter Gloss on it and called it good.
Thanks for stopping by, and please play along with us this week!

Beautiful card! I thought of Christmas at first too when I saw these colors, but decided I need just a bit of time away from creating those. But it is only 11 month away!

Christmas was my only thought when I saw these colors- and you have created quite a beautiful card. I like the texture on your crumb cake panel. Now you have your first Christmas card of 2019.

Lovely little wreath, and the strip of lace is such a great accent. You get dessert!

I can almost feel the texture of your wreath, Barbara (well, I can imagine what it feels like). : ) So pretty and very well done! The hombre effect on the Joy is Perfection because it's so soft and yet it stands out so well at the same time~ A lovely Christmas card!
