I started out by pressing Versamark ink through a Hero Arts wave stencil onto a piece of Neenah white cardstock. I dried the Versamark with a heat gun. I used a Tim Holtz blending tool to apply the turquoise ink all over the background, creating a resist where the Versamark ink was applied. The look was very subtle and I wanted more variation, so I shifted the stencil and added more turquoise ink in some areas. I shifted the stencil and again, this time applying white pigment ink to add highlights to certain waves. I inked the whole background randomly in order to get an uneven coverage to look like currents in the ocean. I die cut a circle in the front of the panel and white heat-embossed a few images and sentiment on the front. I then lined up the oyster stamp in the circle "window" and heat-embossed it in silver on the inside of the card. I masked the oyster image and lightly blended the buttercream ink around the oyster with a blending tool. To finish off the card, I added a small drop of Nuvo drops to the pearl in the middle of the oyster to make it look realistic. I like that this card has some interest on the inside as well as the outside, but there is still plenty of room to write.

Just WOW! You are the Queen of blended backgrounds! Love everything about this card and cant even find the words to describe how incredible your ocean wave effect is on the card front. Magnificent! And that Nuvo drop pearl? Perfection!
So glad to see that you uploaded another creation. Way to go!

Wow, gorgeous! The effect of the Versamark resist is fabulous. Before I read the description I was looking at it trying to work out if it was some subtle dry embossing. The circle aperture is super for the oyster. Love those little seahorses.

This bg is loaded with interest, depth and movement from your layered stenciling. I love the tiny white embossed sea creatures and foliage. Beautifully done!
