Sharon, I'm reading your story to my hubby....wow, I can't believe that you ended up having to tear it apart and throw it away LOL...sorry to laugh but it's one of those stories that you think afterwards, how crazy was that. It also is one of those stories that usually happens to me...I'm glad to know I'm not the only one.
At least it was only $5...could have been worse and such a beautiful shelf too. I agree with Sally, it could have damaged your seat.

Hahaha I so remember the day!! Boy was it a day and such a waste of a really nice find . You think someone or something was trying to purge your craft room before you moved by not even allowing the great find in the door of your scrap room? Lol this still brings a smile to my face remembering the day.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry over the unit...for only $5.00 it is a funny story but the beautiful wood and no nails is very sad to destroy!
Still it makes for a wonderful page, so glad you have pictures!! Weeks in your back seat huh?
