Lisa has a lovely Teaparty this week for a dear friend and wonderful Splitcoastie - Angie aka Sunshinesense. The great outdoors is our theme.
If you are thinking this card looks familiar, you would be right. We had a teaparty last January for "Aunt Betty". I wanted to use the same Psalm and my brain went into auto pilot and before I knew it this card couldn't be any closer to Betty's card if I tried.
The background was made by smacking distress ink onto aluminium foil, squirting on heaps of water then mopping up the inky water with a foam blending tool and scrubbing on cardstock.
I did the grass first, then Using post-it notes I masked the grass and faintly stamped on some little trees. Next step was to sponge on the sky using the same method. I added a bit of pink through the tree line.
To get a bit of texture in the sky I lightly used a the flat side of pencils and added more blue, pink and orange. The pointy end of pencils was used on the grass.
Because I wanted the fence to appear behind the big tree, I drew it on first using a white pencil, then went over it with a 0.7mm Posca paint pen (best white pen ever). I then stamped on the big tree.
The weirdest thing happened, as everything was drying the fence appeared to be in front of the tree trunk. I've gone over the trunk with a pencil, but it still looks like the white fence is on top. I need to do a bit of experimenting.
I lightly stamped the background with a text script stamp, followed by a gazillion liquid pearls and a hint of gold Stickles in the little trees. Finished with stamping the Psalm.
I hope our cards bring lots of sunshine into Angie and her beautiful families day. Thank you for looking.

Wow, not only your techniques intrigued me but your texture in your foreground and background landscape are just amazing. Love the landscape and the freehand work. How I'd love to watch you work.

Absolutely beautiful, Susie. I know Angie puts cards on her fridge...if I were her I'd frame this one and put it on the wall. I agree on the Posca pens being great, but that was a weird resist effect it gave you with the tree. I wonder if something like StazOn would stamp over it...I might try later as I'm on a day off. I really like the soft treeline behind the fence and the tiny script. Your tree is like some magical mythical tree of life.

Hey if it ain't broke, don't fix it (I'm referring to the design of this card being like Betty's card)...This is so pretty and I loved hearing about your process. The bg is amazing and that tree with all the liquid pearls is a wonder!

Well, I didn’t see the one for Aunt Betty, so I’m glad you’ve recreated it. This is a beauty! I love the script stamping and the fabulous liquid pearls all over the tree. Gorgeousness!

WOW! This is a marvelous card, Susie! Your techniques always produce such remarkable results. The white fence caught my eye immediately and I love it. The liquid pearl tree is marvelous and the sky and scrip are wonderful. You chose one of my favorite Bible verses, and I know Angie will love this card and it will definitely be a keepsake of hers. Hugs, my friend!

Well this card might be familiar and similar to Betty's but honestly Miss Susie I could look at your gallery over and over and still love it to pieces. That must be a wonderful white pencil to have it pop to the front of the tree but honestly it really does not look like it is in front of the tree unless you are looking for it. So it works perfect. I am sure Angie will love this to pieces. Thank you so much for sending her a hug.
