I'm joining in this week's sketch challenge by sharing my labor of love from this weekend with you - the Valentine's Day card I made for my husband for this year! The sentiment is a little risque for me, I will freely admit, but when I saw this stamp set I just had to have it - I thought it was adorable and would make for a really cute card for my husband.
I had a really hard time with this sketch challenge, believe it or not! Trying to get something that "worked" for that starburst-like portion on the bottom but that did not overwhelm the focal point of the card (the cute little lightbulb) proved particularly challenging, but I eventually found just what I needed in three different paper stacks from three different brands of patterned paper.
For an added bit of interest, I popped up the main panel of the card and the lightbulb, leaving some dimension in the free space of the die-cut heart area. I also heat-embossed the "on" part of the sentiment in yellow to mirror the light bulb, and added glitter to both.
Finished by stamping a light-bulb with the heart-shaped filament accented with glitter on the envelope.
Apologies for the dark picture - not only was it cloudy all weekend, by the time I finished the card it was dark out, and I wanted to get this card uploaded rather than wait for a sunny day to re-take the picture.
Thanks so much for viewing my card!
Blessings,
C

Fabulous use of the sketch! Love your Valentine card for your hubby. It has a wonderful masculine look. Terrific papers and colors. Love the smiling light bulb in the heart and the sentiment to go with it. Great job! TFS
