A rare foray into the IC for me - I took a peek while DH was still waking up this morning. Actually I wanted to make another card, but made a mess of the stencilling and had to wait for the stencil to dry. And my focus this weekend is on finishing a knitted project. But this Merry & Bright tea towel helped me pull together a couple of bits that have been lying around my desk.
The background stamp goes with a matching ef, and I'd been playing around with that for Karen's recent embossing folder stamping TLC. But I discovered that I couldn't stamp the image on the stamped ef, because it was mirrored. However, the plain stamped background was still on my desk, as was the little coloured village. I used the die several times in white for Christmas cards, though I think only one made it into my gallery. I wanted to see what it would look like in colour. So all the back bits are coloured with Inktense pencils, and DOX for the trees. I added a little star to the tree and some white card to ground the village, and found a sentiment to match my inspiration. Edged it with black, matted it on a white base and I think that's my January quota of cards under my belt. If not, I'll try and come back to my original inspiration tomorrow!

Love your little village, Sabrina. All the textures and beautiful hues of color...and the lights on in the homes. Ot’s A modern delight in a very old skool way. Do come back tomorrow...with another. I love seeing you in the IC

Glad you found that tea towel so you would make this little village and trees, Sabrina. I really love it and your background stamp, also.
