Diane really challenged me today with this sketch. I'm surprised it's even recognizable as the sketch. And I don't know why it was so hard for me. I noticed afterwards that there is supposed to be some white sticking out underneath the green angled papers. Oops! But this was a great sketch to dig into my scrap drawer and use some DP. I started off by looking for an image that I've never used and I found this cute Bugaboo cat, but then I wasn't sure what to do with him. I decided since he looked so happy that I would draw a cardboard box for him to sit in. And that led me to the perfect sentiment from Power Poppy. I wasn't sure what color I wanted to use for the DP, so I just kind of reached in and grabbed anything and landed on lime green. Then I went to my solid scrap drawer for the green heart (cut with my trusty ScanNCut). It was hard to decide on that base layer--did I want a color because I didn't want plain white. This heart embossing folder turned out to be the perfect solution. I had fun with this tough challenge!
You did a FABULOUS job and I think there is always a bit of leeway in the challenges. Your take on the sketch is totally recognizable so you are good! Love the green. LOVE that kitty. Fabulous card!

Wowsers! I love your kitty in a box - and that you hand drew it! So perfect for a cat. I also love embossed backgrounds and how wonderful you had one so full of hearts! I think this makes a super Valentine!

This is just so darling!!! What a great look of the kitty jumping our of the box, all with a big heart behind it. Your colors are great too - not overwhelming, but just right. Super job Jennifer!!

I love this as my own cat at this very moment is in a box we haven't been able to get rid of since Christmas as she has claimed it as her territory.

Marvelous take on the sketch. No worries on a creativity adjustment; I definitely recognize the layout. I enjoyed reading about your creative process to creating this cute & fun card. The cat is so happy and I love how you drew a box for him to sit in. Kids and cats love boxes! The heart embossed background is a nice touch. Love the sentiment. You met the challenge beautifully. TFS
