Yea for the first WT of the Year...and brought by Sabrina and the letter 'A' for Automobile! I immediately thought of my Banksy Volkswagen trailing the hearts...luv him, strongly dislike him, or as I choose to like his graffiti art...he is true to his artist heart.
So in the spirit of Banksy's work, I graffitied on a Tim Holtz Sizzix brick wall. The piece began on a watercolor paper which I embossed the image and watercolored the car and hearts. The background was watercolored for a sky and ground and I added the MORE. I then cut the image out, dry embossed the brick wall, coloring it with Gellatos. Placed the image back inside the wall and stapled it to my card base...just like the playbills one sees around town.
As a side note...cause I love the full journey...in my city, we have our very own graffiti project.
"The 20x21EUG Mural Project is an initiative of the City of Eugene Cultural Services Public Art Program to create 20 or more world-class outdoor murals in Eugene between now and the 2021 IAAF World Championships. The project is led by a highly engaged committee representing collaboration across sectors including communications, law, architecture, small business, nonprofit and the arts. 20x21EUG aims to bring color and life to Eugene's(TM)s urban landscape to foster pride and contribute to a sense of identity. As the project grows, it will seek artist exchanges between Eugene artists and international cities. In 2021, the project will be the focus of an exhibition at the University of Oregon's(TM)s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and Eugene will host the world in the largest sporting event of the year.".
I hope you'll take a look at the murals completed so far. I've walked them all and wondered at the creativity of the international artist. I'd love you to come visit and we'll grab a cuppa of joe or brew and talk art!
Thanks so much for strolling by...

Very urban feel to this...it reminds me of parts of Paris, and of our walk along the Rhone in Geneva where we saw some fantastic murals. The colour you added to the wall is fantastic, and I really like the way you cut out and re-inserted the car. I'll take a quick peek at your link but will look properly when I'm back on the PC. Probably not tonight!

Love this fun artsy card! And those murals! If I ever find myself in Oregon (one of the few states that I've not been to yet), I will for sure stop by for a visit and definitely check out some murals!

What a fun project your city has endorsed - as it DOES seem that the new generation's canvas of choice is the sides of buildings and walls! You have created a marvelous wall full of textures. I love the yellow VW bug ( my sister had one just like that!)

GREAT brick bg for your "love Bug" VW, Susan. We have a '72 MGB GT that we enjoy tooling around in as well as our Tiger. MGs are fun cars....and StL has a fun MG Club too.
