My card today for the first Color Challenge is an encouragement card for a co-worker who had a hip replacement 10 days ago. She kidded before the surgery she was going to trick out a walker! Well, I did that for her with this card.
Thanks Barbara for the vibrant colors today in the CC. I tricked them a bit as well...using Dylusions 'Lemon Zest' spray on the so saffron SU paper. And not being able to leave well enough alone, I rubbed Gellatos across the Bermuda Bay card base to mute that bold color just a bit. The Basic Grey 'Dahlia' stand in for the Blackberry Bliss purple was left along! I used a cool Memory Box square Mod die across it. And as I was designing the card, I like how it focused the eye on the colors.
My walker woman was paper pieced from the house dress to the pinwheel. I tied a bit of vintage seam binding around her head. I rather like how it frumped her up just right. And used Glossy Accents on her spectacles. Added the AMuse sentiment: The journey is the reward. And Slower minds keep right on the front of the walker.
I also turned the embossing folder to change direction of the panel on the Bermuda Bay and So Saffron pieces. It adds just the slightest hint of something interesting going on.
My friend is always taking spins in her community's roads...no ups and downs on sidewalks yet, but she is amazed at her progress and I am too. I think she'll have a belly laugh when she walks out for her mail and spies this card.
Thanks so much for supporting me with your comments...they made my day~0! Can't wait to visit the galleries and see all the creative cards of our community. We have a pretty special bunch of artists here!

OMG, this card is priceless! I love the paper piecing on your "hip" gal, and especially the seam binding around her head. The sign on her walker is perfect (and I know, because I've had both hips replaced!). Love the pretty panels you created and the layout of the card, too! Your friend will love this card!

She is going to love this card forever, Susan. I think I will think of it forever too. What a clever and totally tricked out card. I love every single thing you did to this from the spray, the staples, her hair wrap, to her dress (which is wonderful). So fun! Happy New Year and many hugz
