I made this card for this week's featured stamper who is Barb (Amisjag). I had so much fun going through Barb's gallery, but it was this card that got my immediate attention: IC654 Me and My Crayons by Amisjag at Splitcoaststampers. It has crayons on it - hello! I still love crayons! However, I also loved the bold black/white design with the color of the crayons. Well, I need a lot of birthday cards for January so I decided to substitute candles for crayons. I am also entering this card into this week's CAS challenge with the theme of "Memories of the Past." Fun! So, I did good ole stamping using no stamping aligners at all (this is harder than I remember it being to do). I did use my cricut which I did not have 25 years ago and I used a circle die and did partial die cutting to get the lacy edge (again, we did not have dies 25 years ago). I very carefully added gold stickles to the candle flames so they are really sparkly and I did do this 25 years ago. Barb, your gallery is really beautiful and I am glad I know of your work now. I want to thank you for the wonderful inspiration because you helped me jump-start my birthday card making for January. Happy New Year everyone! ~Karen.

Terrific case! Love how you were inspired by the crayons on Barb's card. The birthday candles look terrific. Good for you doing eye-balling some stamping. You did a great job! Looks straight and even to me. The glitter on the candle flames is excellent. Love the card design. Such a beautiful card. TFS

Great CAS design and I love the bright candles with the black and white. The crisp, black greeting is a terrific font and perfect stamped across the candles - faved!

What super candles with a wonderful party feel in those bright, happy colours. The big die-cut sentiment makes a great statement but still lets the candles shine.
