This is not a very Jen card. Pretty far out of my comfort zone here, but it was inspired by Jody's challenge for our Challenge Your Stash group--to use an owl. Here is an owl stamp that I've never used and I figured to also challenge my stash, I would use my Spectrum Aqua markers to color it. I bought the whole set, but rarely use them. This was a good challenge to combo with Polly's MIX challenge today to have a face on your card. I really mixed a lot of media together here, first by heat embossing the owl and sentiment. I masked the moon behind the owl and created a wrinkle free distress background using Distress Oxide inks, but I also had to fill in parts with a paintbrush. Then I watercolored my image with Spectrum Aqua markers and splattered a little bit of detail on the moon with Distress ink. Finished off with some small white stars in white gel pen.

Sweet owl! I love your bg...it has a sort of Northern Lights look to it with those white stars...really cool results on this. Sometimes it's good to leave your "zone". ;)

Weren't you brave trying wrinkle free distress combined with masking. I've given up trying masking with almost any wet technique, it always bleeds for me. Your background reminds me of some old Provocraft 12x12 paper which I loved and kept bits of for years till I made myself use it all up. And that is one adorable owl.
