Robin's fun Free for All challenge this week is all about saying a wintry "thank you" and bonus points for using something we got this year.
My "thank you" is to all the Splitcoasties who have left me so many lovely and encouraging comments throughout the year. It means more to me than you will ever know.
I have made so many wonderful friends here in Splitcoaststamperville. Just because we have never met in real life, doesn't make our friendships any less valued or important to me.
I know there are a lot of warnings about the internet, but I figure an axe murderer is highly unlikely to own Copic markers let alone pop up in a weekly challenge!
This journal page represents everything I love to do - rubber stamping, digi images, colouring images on copy paper, using pencils as a base coat and add highlight with Copics, fussy cutting, liquid pearls, glitter, Stickles, doodled border, brickwall stenciling, background text stamps, mixed media and journaling. For the winter component - they are all wearing warm jumpers. It's 40C/104F here today...very difficult to feel wintry LOL.
I bought this Dylusions mixed media journal months ago. I kept putting off using it because I worried about mucking it up. How stupid is that, I've already spent the money, might as well enjoy it.
I stamped the sentiments without a MISTI...can't remember the last time I did that. Anyway, the "thank you" words didn't come out clearly enough, so I went over the top of the letters using a Jane Davenport fountain pen (the ink is almost identical to the stamped ink).
Tip: When you need to draw/trace over the top of something, even lettering, turn the page upside down and just follow what you see. It will make no sense when it is upside down, so your brain will just follow what it sees.
When something is the right way up, our natural urge is to use our own style (which would be great if your name is Linda or Audrey).
In the blank space I have written (in the same fountain pen), the stamp brands and challenge keyword, so I can remember what I did.
Thank you for looking, it never seems enough just to say that but I hope you know what it means to me. Happy holidays and here's cheers to a wonderful new year.

I love all the things you said about SCS and where else would I have made so many international friends?? Thanks too for that tip about working upside down when re-outlining faint lines. You are one of the reason I frequent this place, so THANK YOU.

Susie, I could study these pages for a long, long time. So many wonderful details on each of these party animals! These digi girls are 'da bomb'. So much fun. I love all the bling and those expressive eyes. The party hats are so much fun too. It's all too much fun. I always love reading your comments, and get a kick out of your funky sense of humour. Thank you for your comments about the value of our SCS friends. This certainly is a community of fun and caring ladies and your are the cream of the crop. I will certainly use your tip about drawing/tracing. Happy New Year to you and your family.

Susie, you are one of my favorite 'entertainments' on this site! i imagine i'm one of the short, dumpy ladies, although i have white hair, sometimes with blue or red streaks in it. 104F....oh my, summer has arrived for you. i hope those ladies put on deodorant under those snuggle-y jumpers. wonderful creation, it is going into my favorites as i write this.
