What a wonderful reason to make a birthday card. I tried the homemade plaid technique from July/16 by Beverly Stewart and really found it to be all consuming!! I just can't stop making it. LOL Joan is going to be celebrating her 99th birthday soon and I can't think of a more colourful way to do it! The card is a self-standing easel style and I used silver stickers to decorate and for the greeting.

What a pretty way to use your plaid background! Love the graduated banners and the silver corners. Irene will be delighted to receive this card and I will be inspecting that easel with an eye to casing it! :-)

Great plaid. I love seeing how other people do with it...I struggled when I tried, but I think because I have no bullet or chisel-tipped markers other than neon highlighters. You've made a very stylish card for Irene - thanks for joining the party this week.
