The Friday Free For All Challenge, (F4A460...Holiday Card Show Off...12/14/1, was to show some of the cards that you have made for Christmas and winter.
This is a timely and welcome challenge since Christmas is rapidly approaching and my cards will soon be in the mail.
This card was inspired by the tag that I made from a sample strip from a new stamp set. I had been experimenting with different inks - this sample was done with brown ink on the rubber and a darker brown marker thumped over that ink before stamping onto paper.
The branches needed some birds, so I dug through my stamps and found this tiny fancy bird in a retired SU Christmas Deer set that I had never used. Isnât that the sweetest bird?! I used a new SU color, Lovely Lipstick for the bird and after stamping it, discovered that it is a rose-red, not a red-red. Of course I didnât have any of the new card stock to match the ink so I had to sponge the ink onto the off white die-cut word to get a match. The enamel dots are Nuvo Crystal Drops in Rhubarb Crumble. I finished off the tag by rounding one corner and adding a length of rose colored seam binding tied off with linen thread.
The tufted embossed panel was sponged with Memories Soft Wheat ink to add some extra definition to the texture. I added the finished tag to the embossed panel, tucked a sprig of kraft colored grass underneath and glued the colored word in place.
May you have a peaceful Christmas season. Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my peaceful delicate branch card.

Susy, I love all your cards. The warm craft and red colours on this one is no different. I love how you are using tags already stamped. I love the addition of the birds on these branches. The embossed bg also adds to the comfort feel of this card.
