I made the background for this card a while ago. I think the technique was called Pop Art Photo Pull, but I can't find it anywhere in the tutorials. It's made with acrylic paint, gel plate and magazine pages. This is one that did not turn out very well, but had a nice red color to it so I thought I could use it for my red bird. I stamped the bird, stenciled the snowflakes around him with red glitter paste, then I cut around the bird with a knife so I could slip the doily behind the bird. I mounted the panel on black and edged it with a gold line. Added the die cut gold greeting and a gold band to the inside as well. Stamped the inside greeting and embossed in gold.

Don't you love it when a rejected piece finds it's proper place in our paper world. I love everything about this Pat. I juts read your comment on Brenda's card. I too have a friend who lives in the Netherlands and she decorates her tree with birds only. Ohhh is your friends name Anika?

It wasn't in the tutorials, it was one of the DTGD challenges, and I didn't even end up with an attempt worth trying to rescue. Your little bee-eater looks fabulous in red, and with the gold doily this has such an Asian flair.

How cool that you saved this "not so happy with piece" and were able to make it shine, Pat! Your glittery snowflakes look so pretty against that technique piece and your bird stands out much better with the gold behind him~
