This is for today's Mixed Media challenge to use a bird, for Crafters of Faith where we had to do something that you've been afraid to try before because it looks too intimidating, and for Tuesday's Teacup challenge. It was to make a card for Ruth who loves history. We were to make a card to represent something about where we live. I live in Ohio and our state bird is the Cardinal. So I made this card and will fill it with information about cardinals and our state.
I stenciled with oxide inks and wet sponges then dried the image with my heat tool. I stamped the background image with French Script in Vintage photo ink. Some of the cardstock was still wet, and it ran in places adding to the look. I sponged with broken china in the places that were still white. I like the look I got. This multi media stamping is hard for me to do. It seems intimidating putting things together that really don't seem to go together.

Hi, Sue .... thank you for coming to my Mother's tea party with your beautiful state bird of Ohio! Mother loves Cardinals and I am sure she will be impressed with your lovely stenciled and sponged background. I love how your background came out! She will greatly enjoy reading about the history of Ohio as well as what you share about Cardinals. Thank you for helping to make her 90th birthday extra special.

This card may have been intimidating, but your result is inspiring! I love the background, especially where the ink bled in the wet spots. Ruth will love this Cardinal card!
