This is the 49th week of my personal 50-week States of the Union Challenge. Each week I research one of the 50 United States (in the order they attained statehood). I share tidbits of information about the state here on my blog and I create a card that is inspired by something about that state.
This week's state (the 49th one to attain statehood) is Alaska (the state far far away where my daughter lives).
I decided to go with this bit of Alaska information for my card's inspiration... About 1700 miles south of the geographic North Pole lies the Fairbanks suburb of North Pole, Alaska. The townâs famous Santa Claus House gift shop is open year-round, and thousands of letters addressed to Santa are sent to the zip code each year. (A real-life Santa Claus was even elected to City Council.)
You can find more photos/information about both my card and the state of Alaska on my blog...

What a sweet, happy card! You colored it beautifully and your DP is perfect. Not only did I get to gaze at your card, but also learned a bit about Alaska. Good for you that you are taking the time to learn something new every time you make a card. How patriotic is that. I like that. Thank you also for taking the time to leave a nice comment on my Winter Wonderland Holiday card. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

Such a cute Santa Jeanette, and the dot and stripe background is so festive! Thanks for all the great info about Alaska. The list of laws was pretty humerous, especially the one baring flamingos from barber shops (!??!!).
