This is for this week's Tea Party, I wanted to make a card with Our Lady of Lourdes, because I live near this place, I've been working there for years in a souvenirs shop but the first time I came to Lourdes was when I won a prize, a pilgrimage to Lourdes, I didn't speak a word of French and I was only 18 years old, I went there with my best friend and we helped the disabled with the wheelchairs and brought them where they wanted to go, and that's also how I met my boss, the next year I started to work there and I never turned back to Holland (to live).
I saw a lot of illness and sick people but it made me feel strong and today when I've got a headache or other pain I think about those who are very ill and that's why I don't often complain...
Now about my card, I embroidered the right side and stamped the sentiment inside, on the left side I found a coloring page and resized it to make the oval, sponged with Izink inks and colored with alcohol markers and gel pens, the corners are stamped with onyx black and the roses colored with markers, the inside corners are stamped with stazOn hawaii and I added some dots, I enclosed the English version of the story from Bernadette Soubirous and wrote a Birthday Wish on the back side

ah, you are from Holland originally. My brother lives in Holland, Michigan and I go there often to visit. I love it there. They have a windmill moved from Holland, tulip festival, tulip farms, Dutch dancers and best of all, banket! You are a master of the needle. Lovely card, this is very special.

Your embroidered cards are always amazing and so special, Anita, and this one is no exception. I like all the little rose details. Such a beautiful choice of scripture to use too. Ruth will love this...and I'm sure we all enjoyed learning a little more about you!
