The colors this week are, for me, classic Christmas colors. Add to that the shimmer dessert and I knew I had to make a Christmas card! I started by stamping the Merry Merlot card stock in Versamark ink. I used a background stamp that is basically just a script typeface. The sentiment I used is one of my all time favorites for Christmas. I heat embossed it in copper. I tried several deer - all stamped and die cut, then this one. The solid copper won out. To go with the angled ripped edges of the colored card stock I sponged the card edges in Crumb Cake for an antiqued look.

Jeanne, I am absolutely in love with this card, so much so I might just CASE it for some of my cards this year. The combination of the torn layers on the same diagonal as the leaping deer is so pleasing to the eye and gives the card the feeling of motion. Love the script on the merlot layer, too!

Just a glorious card Jeanne, with so many thoughtful details. The script on the Merlot adds just a perfect subtle design, letting the gorgeous deer and sentiment take the spotlight. Love this to bits!
