Shoe Girl aka sweet Lisa girl, is hosting our Teaparty this week and "It's all about the plants". Our cards are on the way to Wendy in Canada.
The polypropylene synthetic paper is a PP Yupo equivalent high density matt paper. I haven't used yupo so I can't tell you if it reacts differently.
I don't have many plant stamps and seeing as Wendy is a very keen Gardner, I was aiming for a pile of autumn leaves.
The background was created with alcohol inks and isopropyl alcohol, blown around the paper with a drinking straw. I nearly popped my puffer valve, that isopropyl could kill a brown dog!
I stamped some reeds onto Wendy's card and to give them a bit more oompf I drew over the reeds with a few Copic markers.
I used model paste and a stencil for the birds. I stuck my finger in a bird to see if it was dry...ooops, bad move as the alcohol ink bled through.
I quite liked the look so I poked all the birds to fluff them up a bit. I then added some gold Twinkling H20's to the birds and in random places on the cards.
Thanks for looking.

Such cute "poked" birds against an awesome background, Susie! Please turn that puffer valve off; we don't need our special Susie to injury her lungs! LOL You are so funny, my friend! Great cards, Susie!

Your description is just as fun as these cards! I love the textures and what an extraordinary alcohol ink background! Fluffing the birds was so imaginative and fun. Your doodled borders have always been one of my favorite things that you do on your cards.

You need to make a YouTube video of your process some time...you'd have a million views. Susie you're a stitch Great bg with that Yupo like paper and the alcohol inks. I like how your birds turned out..glad you got impatient and stuck your fingers in there. Very well done.

I couldn't wait to see this after reading in my email (yay...and you did get my personal one yesterday?) about poking the birds. Your paper sounds great and the results certainly look like what one can achieve with Yupo. I used a spray can and it went everywhere (maybe because it was a brand new spray can!), so a straw sounds like a much better idea to me so long as you don't blow yourself out and keep the ventolin handy, LOL. I love these, those birds are so sweet and your doodled borders are always super.
