Yup. I fell off the map again. Life sure does get in the way of crafting and, in spite of my good intentions, this summer didn't allow me much crafting time. We're avoiding winter by hanging out in sunny AZ - hopefully I can get back to creating cards more regularly.
We arrived in Arizona just in time for me to be able to attend the Rubber Stamp Events Show in Mesa with a friend on the weekend. The Our Daily Bread Designs booth is always our first and favourite stop. I picked up the Quilted Die Background and the Hugs set. Made this card to send to my Mom who has been a quilter for years - everyone in the family has a few of her wonderful quilts to keep us warm.
Figured my card was timely for this week's Ways to Use It challenge. It is now winging it's way north to Mom in snowy Alberta.
The cardstock is from a stack by Memento - it's called Watercolor Splash and works perfectly for those times when I want a quick watercolour look but don't have time to get inky.
I am going to have oodles of fun with this background die - it's going to be a favourite.
Hugs to all. Thanks for stopping by. :-)

Hey Heather...so glad you got to AZ and warmed up. Ha Your paper does look like watercolor and I do like your die cut. Very pretty card to send your mom and I'm thinking she will love it.

Beautiful quilted card, Heather! The designer paper filling in the quilt is fantastic. I, too, thought it was watercolored! Glad to see you back in the gallery!
Wow, this is so cool - and to think it is decorative paper. I would have never guessed. Good trick to have up your sleeve. Love the thought and personalization to this, too.
