This was made for my brother-in-law's 60th birthday! I water colored the car using the red, curry and blue re-inkers. I wasn't really sure about the design until after I had completed the coloring. I decided to go for a retro theme so I stenciled a checkered background reminiscent of either a diner floor or a checkered flag (I figured both worked). Then I remembered the photo corner dies I had, so I used those. The sentiment I heat embossed in Crushed Curry (never thought I'd use THAT color). If you grew up in California in the 50's and 60's you'll remember that license plates were black and yellow, so that also contributes to the retro feel. Finally I had some brads that look like Phillips head screws so I used those to "secure" the sentiment strip.
I used several items on this card that I'd never used before - the stamp (years?), the photo corner dies and the Crushed Curry embossing powder (can't really understand why I bought that).
