Hi, everyone! Today I stepped out of my comfort zone and played in the Mixability Challenge, which is to use different types of text on your card. I am also playing in the Friday Free4All Challenge, which is to use a stamp or stamp set which has never seen ink before, so I chose the 'Elements of Style' set by Stampin Up and a misc text stamp which I bought at a scrapbook store over ten years ago. I began by creating an inked panel using the Wrinkle Free Distress Technique (caramel, kraft, and blush dye inks were swiped onto a craft sheet, spritzed, then mopped up with the cardstock). Once the panel was dry, the text stamp was stamped with Stazon Jet Black. Each section of the stamp was torn, inked, then adhered to a Cherry Cobbler card base. White acrylic paint was lightly painted over the text; the floral image from 'Elements of Style' was stamped with Stazon, then the flowers were colored with Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, and Always Artichoke markers. The 'Dream' letters (from Top Dog Dies) were cut and adhered. I decided not to add any embellishments so that it could be mailed with one stamp. Thanks so much for looking! Have a very blessed day!

Beautiful work on the two challenges, Angella. Your flower is a beautiful color in the deep reds and I like the tearing.

Angie this turned out great!! You made a really cool text bg and I like the way you painted over it so you could stamp your image. Thanks for breaking out of your comfort zone and trying the MIX today....you should do it more often...obviously you do have a talent for it

What a great text stamp that looks to be. I like the way you've created almost a mosaic with it - and the colours in the Elements of Style flower are just fab.

Gorgeous!! Love the coloring of the flowers on the aged text. Creative way to position the text pieces with specific words on the left side. Very nicely done. TFS

I never would have guessed that text was stamped. I love the way you’ve arranged your bits of text paper and the white acrylic paint over it really adds a lot of interesest and makes the perfect base for your pretty fowers. You may have stepped out of your comfort zone, but we’d never know it! This is fabuous, Angie!

Wow, Angie, what a gorgeous card! I agree with Jen that I would never know you stepped out of your comfort zone. You look very comfy to me in this style! Love the background with the text and how you've torn it and left space for the base to show. And the flower on top with the "mixed media" techniques is a "wow!" I love it, and I hope you do more of this. Very fascinating and beautiful! Hugs and love! xoxo
